Quezon City’s top drug suspect falls

MANILA, Philippines — The most wanted drug suspect in Quezon City was arrested in a sting on Friday.

Gian Christopher de Guzman, 35, is at the top of the Quezon City Police District’s drug personalities and ranked eighth in Metro Manila, according to QCPD director Brig. Gen. Ronnie Montejo.

De Guzman was placed under arrest after he reportedly sold a pack of shabu to an undercover police officer in exchange for P8,500 in a sting in Barangay Quirino 2-B at around 2:25 p.m.

Police officers from QCPD Station 9 confiscated 17 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu valued at P115,600 from De Guzman.

The suspect is being held on charges of drug trafficking.

Another sting led to the arrest of Franklin Rodriguez, 37, by QCPD Station 2 personnel after he reportedly sold a sachet of shabu for P500 to a policeman posing as a drug buyer in Barangay Paltok at around 9:30 p.m. on Friday.

Police confiscated around 10 grams of shabu with a street value of P68,000 from Rodriguez.
