NCRPO thanks Makati for firearms donation
MANILA, Philippines — Only the Makati City police, among the police units in the country, has high-quality rifles from Israel, courtesy of a donation from the city government, National Capital Region Police Office chief Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas said on Thursday.
He thanked the city government, led by Mayor Abby Binay, for donating “top-of-the-line firearms” to the city police.
Binay recently led the donation of new firearms to the city police “to maintain peace and order in the city, especially during the pandemic,” she said in a statement.
These included 100 Tavor assault rifles, 100 Galil assault rifles and three Galil sniper rifles.
The city government also donated 70 Meprolight red dot reflex sights, 45 KDS tactical gas masks, 35 Meprolight night vision scopes and two Dillon Precision devices.
Binay also said she would hire experts from Israel to train local police officers and improve their crime-fighting capabilities.
