Ralph Edwin Villanueva - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Muntinlupa government has banned karaoke sessions during weekdays to avoid loud noises that will distract students attending online classes.

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi signed an ordinance prohibiting the use of karaoke, videoke and other devices that cause loud noise during school hours.

Fresnedi said karaoke and videoke sessions are allowed from 6 a.m to 10 p.m. on Saturday and from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Violators will be fined up to P5,000 and penalized with 30 days in jail.
