P2.4 million marijuana destroyed in Ilocos Sur, Benguet

DAGUPAN CITY, Philippines — Anti-narcotics operatives have uprooted 8,100 fully grown marijuana plants and 10,000 seedlings with an estimated value of P2.4 million in Ilocos Sur and Benguet yesterday.

A report from the Ilocos police said the marijuana plantations were discovered in Sugpon, Ilocos Sur and Kibungan, Benguet.

The marijuana plants were burned at the plantation sites. Samples were also brought to the regional drug enforcement unit for disposition.

The cultivator of the marijuana plants eluded arrest.
