MANILA, Philippines — The operations of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) will be suspended from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2 to allow for repairs and maintenance activities.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) said the shutdown would be undertaken by the MRT-3 management for bushing replacement and turnout activity at the Taft Avenue station.

The bushing replacement will include fixing of the bus tie, which supplies power to the depot.

The turnout activity is a continuation of the fixing and replacement of turnout sections at the Taft Avenue station, the DOTr said.

A turnout is used to enable trains to switch tracks.
