MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has recorded 28 more coronavirus disease 2019 cases among its personnel.

Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon and Northern Mindanao recorded five cases each; Metro Manila, four; Calabarzon and Ilocos, two each, and Western Visayas, Zamboanga peninsula, Soccsksargen and the Cordilleras, one each.

A police officer from an administrative unit of the PNP was included in the latest batch of COVID-19 cases.

At least 6,955 police officers have contracted the virus.

Twenty-two of them died while 6,318 or 90.84 percent have recovered.
