MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will suspend the voter registration during the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.

In an advisory issued yesterday, the poll body said voter registration would be suspended from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2.

“Voter registration will resume on Nov. 3,” the advisory read.

The Comelec started the voter registration for the May 2022 national and local elections on Sept. 1.

Beginning Nov. 9, the poll body will accept voter applicants from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Comelec reverted to the weekday schedule to give way for disinfection in offices of election officers during Saturdays, spokesman James Jimenez said.

Jimenez said health and safety protocols are strictly implemented during registration process.
