4 dead in Zamboanga del Norte, North Cotabato floods
MANILA, Philippines — Two persons drowned in flash floods in Zamboanga del Norte on Tuesday.
The provincial disaster risk reduction and management office said the body of an unidentified man was found floating in Barangay Poblacion in Sibuco town.
Flora Habong, said to be a person with disability, was swept away by flood waters while trying to cross a river in Barangay Dumalogdog in Sindangan.
Several houses were destroyed and landslides were reported in Barangay Limpapa in Zamboanga City and Sitio Dapitan in Sibuco.
In North Cotabato, two residents drowned when a river overflowed amid heavy rains in Barangay Bulatukan in Makilala town, also on Tuesday.
The bodies of the victims, one of them identified as Edzel Gumalin, were recovered near the river.
