Roel Pareño - The Philippine Star

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — Dried marijuana leaves valued at around P2.3 million were allegedly seized from a businessman during an anti-drug operation in this city over the weekend.

Timhar Lajahassan, 31, of Jolo, Sulu, was collared after he reportedly sold an undertemined amount of marijuana to an undercover agent in a sting on Tripplit street, Barangay Sto. Niño.

The marijuana leaves, estimated to weigh 19.5 kilos, were wrapped in plastic packs and placed in two boxes, according to Col. Rexmel Reyes, acting city police chief.

The packs of marijuana were turned over to the police crime laboratory for examination.

Authorities said criminal charges would be filed against Lajahassan.
