Quake shakes Southern Leyte
MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude-3.1 earthquake shook parts of Southern Leyte yesterday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The quake occurred at 2:39 p.m. and its epicenter was located some five kilometers northeast of Hinundayan town.
It was felt at Intensity 3 in Hinundayan, San Juan and Anahawan. Intensity 2 was felt in Silago and St. Bernard, both located in Southern Leyte
Phivolcs describes quakes of Intensity 3 and 2 as weak and slightly felt, respectively.
No damage or aftershocks were expected from the temblor.
