MANILA, Philippines — Over P200 million worth of shabu was confiscated from three drug runners allegedly working for the Golden Triangle ring during separate stings in Parañaque and Taguig on Wednesday night.

Suboh Omal Abdul, 29, and Alvin Abdul Amiril, 40, were apprehended by operatives of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) in Barangay Don Bosco at around 6:32 p.m.

Abdul and Amiril allegedly yielded shabu valued at P81.6 million.

The suspects’ arrest led to a follow-up operation against Ebrahim Dimakiling, said to be the duo’s drug supplier.

Dimakiling was arrested in C-5 Waterfun in Taguig at around 10 p.m.

Police said they recovered from Dimakiling around 18 kilos of shabu with an estimated street value of P122.4 million.

Authorities said the suspects were allegedly working for a Chinese boss with ties to the Golden Triangle drug ring, which operates on the borders of Myanmar, Laos and Thailand.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said it would intensify efforts in locating the group’s other warehouses.

The PDEA said it would check with the Bureau of Corrections if the shabu haul was supposed to be delivered to the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa.

“The illegal drugs entering the country are mostly from the Golden Triangle drug trafficking organization. We’re looking for the location of other warehouses. The PNP and PDEA have dismantled their warehouse in Bulacan,” PDEA chief Wilkins Villanueva told reporters.

“If there’s something like that (P200-million shabu), definitely there’s a warehouse somewhere. That’s what we are working on with the PNP,” he added.

Last June, anti-narcotics officers recovered at least P5.14 billion worth of shabu in Marilao, Bulacan.
