Quezon mayor, wife catch COVID-19

SARIAYA, Quezon, Philippines — The mayor of this town and his wife have tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19.

In a post on social media yesterday, Mayor Marcelo Gayeta and his wife Marivic announced that they are both infected with the virus.

Gayeta gave assurance that the local government would continue serving the people.

He reminded the public to stay safe and observe health protocols at all times to prevent themselves from getting infected.

Gayeta said apart from his wife, no other members of their household contracted the disease.
