P47 million shabu seized in Batangas

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Seven kilos of shabu with an estimated street value of P47 million were recovered with the arrest of four suspected drug dealers in Sto. Tomas City, Batangas on Wednesday.

Brig. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr., Calabarzon police director, said Joey Mordes, 26; Lanze Esquivel, 21; Angelo Morales, 18, and John Paul Muyco, 21, were arrested in a sting in a parking lot along the Pan Pacific Highway at around 10:20 a.m.

Personnel of the Batangas police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted the operation.

Authorities said a Mitsubishi Mirage and boodle money were also seized from the suspects.

In North Cotabato, Gani Mehar Kanday, 29; Thens Ebrahim 32, and Adham Mawiya Adam, 34, were arrested after selling 50 grams of shabu valued at P354,000 in a sting in Pigcawayan yesterday.

Naravy Duquiatan, PDEA-Soccsksargen director, said they are looking into reports that the suspects belong to a breakaway faction of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front.
