Puyat goes on 10-day quarantine
MANILA, Philippines — Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat has tested negative for COVID-19 but remains on quarantine as a precaution.
Puyat has been advised to undergo quarantine for 10 days after being exposed to a person who tested positive for the virus.
She was cleared of COVID-19 on Monday, the Department of Tourism said yesterday.
Puyat has not manifested any symptoms of the disease.
She was scheduled to visit Boracay today as the island reopens to domestic tourists from areas under modified community quarantine.
In an interview with “The Chiefs” on One News/TV5 on Tuesday night, Puyat said she sees no problem if Boracay will impose a localized lockdown if COVID-19 cases on the island increase.
She said she has learned a lot about dealing with the COVID-19 situation from Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong.
