Balik Probinsya beneficiaries to get livelihood aid — Go

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go has commended the member agencies of the Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa (BP2) Council for their continued commitment to provide economic opportunities and renewed hope for those who chose to return to the provinces.

During a virtual awarding which was simultaneously held in various municipalities in Leyte on Tuesday, the Department of Labor and Employment and BP2 partner agencies extended livelihood assistance to families and individuals who qualified for the first rollout of the program on May 20.

A total of 33 beneficiaries were provided with livelihood starter kits through the labor department’s Kabuhayan program so they can start rice vending in their respective areas.

In a video message, Go reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensure the quality of life of beneficiaries of the BP2 program.

“Hindi po kayo pababayaan ng gobyernong ito. Sisiguraduhin namin na mabibigyan kayo ng bagong pagasa ng mas magandang kinabukasan kung pipiliin ninyong bumalik sa probinsya at magsimula muli doon,” he said.

Go gave assurance that beneficiary-families would receive the appropriate assistance even as he stressed the need for a holistic approach to ensure the successful implementation of BP2.
