DepEd probes ‘dirty’ learning modules

Bebot Sison Jr. - The Philippine Star

IBA, Zambales , Philippines — The Department of Education (DepEd) has vowed to take legal action against a Catholic school in this province that reportedly used “dirty” names in its learning materials.

A comprehensive investigation on the matter will be conducted tomorrow on orders of DepEd Central Luzon director Nick Capulong.

Leonardo Zapanta, Zambales education superintendent, said initial investigation showed the learning materials were produced by the Carmel Academy based in Palauig town.

The investigation came after a post by netizen Reyson Lee went viral on social media.

The post showed some parts of the modules used “creative” names with dual meaning.

The names were said to be parts of the text to possible answers to a given question.

Zapanta said not all learning modules that are posted on social media are from DepEd.
