Teacher killed in North Cotabato drug sting

John Unson - The Philippine Star

COTABATO CITY , Philippines — A public school teacher was killed in an anti-narcotics operation in Midsayap, North Cotabato yesterday.

Lt. Col. John Calinga of the Midsayap police said Jake Placibe, 23, drew his gun when he sensed he had transacted with undercover agents.

Calinga said Placibe was a ”high-value” target, who was tagged in the large-scale sale of shabu in North Cotabato.

In Baguio City, suspected big-time drug dealer Romel Baucas did not resist arrest after selling 2.5 grams of shabu worth P10,000 to police officers who posed as buyers in a sting along Naguilian Road in Barangay San Luis on Wednesday.

“They are falling one by one with the help of informants who know their illegal business so well,” Lorenzo Lab-as, National Bureau of Investigation-Cordillera intelligence chief, said.   –  Artemio Dumlao
