P.1 million reward up for tip on MTPB enforcer’s killers
MANILA, Philippines — Mayor Isko Moreno yesterday offered a P100,000 reward to anyone who could give information on three persons accused of killing Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) enforcer Ronald Malonzo in Port Area.
During his Capital Report on Friday, Moreno showed the photos of suspects identified only as Benhar Mapagmahal, Arnel and Sangkity Musa alias Johari or Joe.
Moreno also showed during his Facebook Live address the closed-circuit television footage of the incident, when the first suspect failed to shoot the marshall because his gun jammed, only for a second suspect to finish the job in broad daylight.
“I want to give justice to one of our own,” he said.
Moreno also warned barangay officials in the area against coddling criminals, amid claims the suspects were able to escape because they were tipped off.
Malonzo was texting in front of a store along Railroad street in Port Area when he was gunned down last Sept. 6.
His death prompted the demolition of informal settlers’ houses and stalls in Port Area by the city government and the Manila Police District in a bid to flush out the suspects.
