Villar distributes face shields, PPEs to Las Piñas residents

MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Cynthia Villar has initiated the distribution of face shields and personal protective equipment (PPE) to Las Piñas City residents and workers to enhance their protection against COVID-19.

Villar sourced more than 6,000 face shields and with the help of barangay leaders and community volunteers, distributed the PPEs to all 20 barangays of Las Piñas and nearby barangays of Cavite.

Employees, farm workers, street sweepers, waste collectors, traffic aides, barangay watchmen and police officers also received face shields from the senator.

“As we ease quarantine restrictions, we should always remind the people to wear face masks and face shields as well as to practice physical distancing and hand hygiene. These PPEs, which are now available and affordable, will protect our people as they move around the community and earn a living for their families,” Villar said.

She noted that some establishments, aside from requiring their customers to fill out a health check form, also require the wearing of face masks and face shields before allowing entry into their premises.
