San Juan breaks single-day COVID- 19 recovery record

MANILA, Philippines — The San Juan City government on Thursday said 209 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the virus, the biggest number reported in a day in the city.

“The number of recoveries was record-breaking,” Mayor Francis Zamora said in Filipino in a Facebook post.

The latest tally broke the previous record of 191 patients who recovered last March.

Of the 2,308 COVID-19 cases in San Juan, 1,824 or 79.02 percent of the patients have recovered. Sixty-nine have succumbed to the virus while there still 415 active cases.

The barangays with the most number of COVID-19 cases are West Crame with 200, Batis with 199 and Sta. Lucia with 184.
