Benguet town resorts reopen
BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Residents of Itogon, Benguet can now go to swimming pools and resorts in the town.
Mayor Victorio Palangdan issued an executive order on basic health protocols and standard operating procedures for the reopening of these tourism facilities.
Palangdan said the national government eased restrictions for local tourists to help the tourism industry cope with the economic impact of the community quarantine.
However, he said resort owners should strictly implement minimum health protocols and other quarantine guidelines to ensure the safety of everyone.
Aside from a 50 percent capacity, swimming pools and resorts will be required to install plastic barriers at the cashier, counter and entrance.
Meanwhile, this city has relaxed more quarantine restrictions as it prepares for its “moving on phase.”
Mayor Benjamin Magalong removed quarantine pass requirements in malls, markets and other business establishments, except at the city market, lifted the liquor ban and allowed senior citizens and families to go out for essential needs and services.
“We have to move on and learn to live with the virus. We can only do so if we strictly observe all health protocols,” Magalong said.
