Surigao Norte police intel unit head found dead

BUTUAN CITY, Philippines — The head of the police intelligence unit of Sison town in Surigao del Norte, who was seized by armed men on his way to work on July 30, was found dead yesterday.

Police said the body of S/Sgt. Restie Dandan was discovered in a mountainous area in Sitio Napo, Barangay Matin-ao, Mainit.

Dandan was on his motorcycle on his way to work when suspected communist rebels took him along the highway in Barangay San Isidro in Sison.

An investigation is ongoing.
