Arson, robbery eyed in Parañaque fire
MANILA, Philippines — Fire struck a residential and commercial building in Parañaque City on Sunday night.
The owner of the establishment, Maria Lourdes Villaroman, said the incident could be a case of arson and robbery.
Arson probers said the fire broke out at Wintex Building along West Service Road, Barangay Marcelo Green at around 9:45 p.m.
The blaze reached the second alarm before it was declared under control after an hour, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection.
Villaroman told reporters that some appliances, including a refrigerator, a gas range oven and an empty vault were missing.
She believed that the establishment was robbed before it was set on fire.
Damage to property was estimated at P300,000.
No one was reported injured in the incident.
