Ex-cop shot dead

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — A former police officer was shot dead by a lone assailant in Sto. Tomas, Batangas on Sunday afternoon.

Roland Ocampo, 37, died from multiple gunshots to the body following the incident that occurred at around 4:50 p.m. in Barangay San Vicente.

Ocampo, who was AWOL or absent without official leave, was declared dead on arrival at the St. Cabrini Hospital.

Probers have yet to determine the motive for the killing.
