Cayetano’s staff positive for COVID-19

MANILA, Philippines — Two staff members of Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019, bringing to 39 the number of COVID-19 cases at the House of Representatives.

House secretary general Jose Luis Montales said the first employee, who last reported for work on July 28, manifested symptoms of the virus such as fever, cough body pains and loss of smell.

Montales said the employees went on quarantine.

“We have conducted contact tracing,” he told reporters.
