MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives recorded yesterday two new cases of coronavirus disease 2019, bringing to 36 its number of COVID-19 infections with three deaths.

A couple assigned at the human resources management service and accounting department contracted the virus, according to House secretary general Jose Luis Montales.

Montales said both employees last reported for work on July 30.

“We are conducting contact tracing to prevent the spread of the virus,” he said.

On Tuesday, three House employees were infected with COVID-19.

Four congressmen have tested positive for the virus. They are Henry Villarica of Bulacan, Samier Tan of Sulu, Deputy Speaker Johnny Pimentel of Surigao del Sur and Mujiv Hataman of Basilan.
