Indian trader gunned down

MANILA, Philippines — An Indian businessman was shot dead by an unidentified assailant in Quezon City yesterday.

Harpreer Singh Maan, of San Juan City, had just delivered vegetables to a customer when the suspect fired at him along Benitez street in Barangay San Martin de Porres at past 5 a.m.

According to a police report, Maan was standing beside his car when the gunman approached the victim and shot him twice.

The victim died at the scene from gunshots to the head. The suspect fled on foot after the killing.

Probers said they are still looking for leads to determine the suspect’s identity and motive.
