DAR cuts process of land acquisition, distribution
MANILA, Philippines — The process of acquisition and distribution of properties under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) has been shortened from 291 days to 112, the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) said yesterday.
The shortening of the process is intended to fast-track land ownership of agrarian reform beneficiaries.
The DAR issued guidelines simplifying the land acquisition and distribution of agricultural properties covered by the CARP.
The guidelines are in compliance with President Duterte’s order to complete the distribution of the remaining private agricultural lands covered by Republic Act 6657 by June 30, according to DAR Secretary John Castriciones.
The guidelines are applicable to all acquisition and distribution processes regardless of the size of the property, Castriciones said.
“DAR field officers will introduce strategies to continue the land acquisition and distribution process in accordance with the order,” he said.
