MANILA, Philippines — Police have identified the motorcycle driver believed to be involved in the killing of National Center for Mental Health (NCMH) diretor Roland Cortez in Quezon City last week, a police official said yesterday.

“We have a lead on the driver of the motorcycle and we have his picture. More or less we are about to file charges,” Brig. Gen. Ronnie Montejo, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director, said in a press conference.

Montejo refused to give more details so as not to jeopardize an ongoing manhunt for the suspect.

A surveillance camera footage showed the motorcycle driver leaving the scene together with a back-rider which authorities believe was the gunman.

The QCPD earlier released a sketch of what investigators believed was either the spotter or gunman.

Cortez was on his way to work in Mandaluyong City when he and his driver were gunned down. — Ralph Edwin Villanueva
