4 frontliners contract COVID-19

MANILA, Philippines — Four frontliners in Luzon tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19, authorities reported yesterday.

Two of the cases were recorded in Sual, Pangasinan, bringing the total number of infections in the town to seven, according to Mayor Liseldo Calugay.

The two other cases were recorded in Luna, Apayao, bringing the total cases in the province to 19.

The frontliners had traveled to San Nicolas in Ilocos Norte and Tuguegarao in Cagayan, according to the provincial task force on COVID.

Meanwhile, a religious leader in Tabuk, Kalinga tested positive for COVID, according to Mayor Darwin Estrañero.

The 51-year-old patient traveled to Solano in Nueva Vizcaya and Baguio during the last week of July.

He reportedly suffered from body weakness and fever.

In Negros Occidental, a hospital in La Carlota City and some offices in the capitol were locked down on Monday after a doctor and a staff of a board member, respectively, tested positive for COVID-19.
