MANILA, Philippines — Passport services of the Department of Foreign Affairs are suspended in Metro Manila and other areas placed under modified enhanced community quarantine or MECQ starting today until Aug. 18, the DFA announced yesterday.

The DFA said operations at the Office of Consular Affairs in Aseana Parañaque and other consular offices in Metro Manila and the provinces are suspended in accordance with MECQ guidelines.

“Passport applicants with confirmed appointments during these dates will be accommodated from Aug. 19 to Sept. 30 during regular business hours,” the DFA said.

There is no need for applicants to reschedule or cancel their appointments.

The DFA reminded the public that due to logistical limitations under MECQ rules, there may be some delays in the production, delivery and availability of passports.
