4 vehicles in EDSA accidents
MANILA, Philippines — Four vehicles figured in separate collisions along EDSA yesterday, with one colorum van hitting a concrete post after the driver fell asleep, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
An L300 van, a Toyota Rush and a Mitsubishi Mirage collided with each other due to speeding at around 9:40 a.m., according to MMDA EDSA traffic chief Bong Nebrija.
Three hours earlier, a UV Express van hit the concrete post of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 along EDSA Aurora tunnel yesterday.
The van crashed into the post and concrete barriers after its driver, who had no alternate, fell asleep after hours of driving from Isabela, Nebrija said.
The driver will be charged for colorum operations after charging the van’s passengers P2,000 to P2,500, he added. The passengers were injured in the accident.
