ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — Eight drug suspects, including an alleged militiaman, were arrested in separate drug operations that resulted in the recovery of P840,000 worth of shabu in this city and in Isabela, Basilan on Saturday.

Among those arrested were two suspected major drug suppliers, identified as Sharler Umbong Sauragal, 32, and Elina Hadjiruddin Asibun, 34, both of Barangay Mampang in this city, according to Brig. Gen. Jesus Cambay Jr., Zamboanga region police director.

The suspects reportedly yielded a large pack and six plastic sachets containing shabu.

Police also arrested two minors in another anti-drug operation conducted on the same day in three barangays, and a militiaman identified as Jayshar Tanadjalul in Barangay Cabuntabata, Isabela, Basilan.
