4 suspects killed; P4 million shabu seized in drug stings
MANILA, Philippines – Four drug suspects were killed in stings in Bulacan and North Cotabato on Friday.
Andres Marcolita and Gil Manaog drew their guns when they sensed they had sold shabu to undercover agents in Barangay Diliman in San Rafael town, Bulacan police director Col. Lawrence Cajipe said in a report.
The suspects were pronounced dead on arrival at the Baliuag District Hospital.
Cajipe said 220 grams of shabu valued at P1.65 million and two .45-caliber revolvers were recovered from the suspects.
Robert Pacon, alias Dodong, allegedly engaged police officers in a shootout in Barangay Cutocot in Pulilan.
In North Cotabato, P1.6 million worth of shabu was seized from Mohidin Mahmod, Sidik and Nasrudin, both surnamed Tugan, in a drug bust in Barangay Bual, Midsayap.
Mahmod was shot dead when he allegedly pulled his gun when he sensed they transacted with anti-narcotics agents who posed as buyers.
In Angeles City, police said 20 drug suspects and P890,000 worth of shabu was recovered in a raid in Barangay Balibago.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency spokesman Derrick Carreon said Bryan Castillo, 35, and Jesus Austria, 18, were arrested for possession of 100 grams of shabu in a sting in Barangay Triangulo in Naga City, Camarines Sur.
