6 slain in Calabarzon attacks

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – Six persons, including an eight-year-old girl, have been killed in separate attacks in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon).

Cesario Forteza was at home in Barangay Limao, Calauan, Laguna when Ruel Tolentino reportedly barged in and shot him at close range on Sunday.

After the killing, Tolentino reportedly went to the house of the victim’s brother Richard located 300 meters away from the crime scene.

The suspect reportedly shot Richard and a woman, identified as Maricel Cabarles.

The victims died at the scene, according to Col. Serafin Petalio, Laguna provincial director.

On the same day, a man was found with a gunshot to the head in Barangay Anastacia in Tiaong, Quezon.

Meanwhile, in Rizal, Dionito Baybayon was on his way home in a car when he was waylaid by two unidentified assailants along Marcos Highway in Barangay San Isidro, Antipolo City.

Baybayon died while being rushed to the Antipolo District Hospital.

In nearby San Mateo town, an identified man assaulted three members of a family, killing an eight-year-old girl.

The victims were found with multiple stab wounds and head injuries in their house on Marang street in Barangay Maly-lying at around 11 a.m. yesterday.

The victims were rushed to the Ynares Hospital, where the girl was declared dead on arrival, and her grandmother and uncle in critical condition.
