Cop beaten to death in Cagayan

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Philippines  – A police officer died after he was allegedly beaten up when he confronted a group of men drinking liquor in Barangay Bagay in this city on Friday.

Witnesses said Cpl. Ronnie Ferdinand Paguirigan, 34, of the Cagayan Valley police was believed to be drunk when he went berserk and threw the food of the suspects.

Paguirigan was pronounced dead on arrival in a hospital.

Robinson, 39; Reymund, 19, and Jeffrey, 35, also surnamed Paguirigan, and Jonel Balunsat, 25, were arrested.
