Emmanuel Tupas - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Two police officers were arrested in Bulacan for alleged extortion.

Senior M/Sgt. Vic Godwin Lajom and Pat. Jay Mark Tuazon and their civilian cohorts were apprehended after receiving P500 in marked money in an entrapment at a police station in Malolos, Brig. Gen. Ronald Lee, director of the police Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group said.

“We have received several complaints regarding the involvement of the two police officers in protection racket in their area. They demand money from tricycle drivers and traffic violators in exchange for the nullification of their citation tickets,” Lee said.
