Trike driver returns laptop, cash

Eva Visperas - The Philippine Star

ROSALES, Pangasinan, Philippines — A tricycle driver from this town has returned to its owner a bag that contained a laptop, cash and cheques worth P350,000 that he found in Tarlac recently.

Lloyd Feliciano, 35, of Barangay Carmen East, said he saw the bag as he was driving in San Manuel town on June 30.

Feliciano told The STAR that initially, he was scared the bag might contain a bomb. Still he decided to open the bag and found it contained valuables.

“I looked for a calling card or any number that I could use to contact the owner,” Feliciano said.

He found a phone number in the bag and dialled it. The number belongs to one of the owner’s helper.

Feliciano drove to the Rosales municipal police to wait for the owner Allan Ramos, who gave him P2,000 as reward and promised to find him a job.

Ramos, who owns a poultry farm, said he was not aware that the bag fell as he was driving an improvised tricycle.
He said the laptop contains financial information including contracts and receipts of his business transactions.

Feliciano, a single father of three, said it was not the first time that he found and returned valuables in his 15 years as a tricyle driver.
