Parañaque COVID cases exceed 1,000

MANILA, Philippines — The number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infections in Parañaque City exceeded 1,000 over the weekend.

Mayor Edwin Olivarez said 32 additional cases of COVID-19 were posted as of Saturday, bringing to 1,024 the number of residents infected with the virus.

Of the figure, 252 are active cases or those on quarantine while 715 have recovered from the disease.

The number of deaths stood at 57.

Health officials said Barangay BF Homes registered the most number of COVID-19 cases with 43, followed by Barangay Tambo with 33.

In Makati, there were 997 cases of COVID-19 as of Saturday, with 18 additional cases.

Barangay Pembo has the most number of COVID-19 infections with 90.
