MILF man hurt in clash with MNLF

COTABATO CITY , Philippines – A Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) guerrilla was wounded in an alleged encounter with members of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) in Sultan Kudarat town in Maguindanao yesterday.

Sulaiman Macauyag of the MILF’s 128th Base Command was taken to a hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds in the body.

Police said a group of MNLF fighters reportedly led by a certain Samad opened fire at a row of houses in a farming enclave in Barangay Macaguiling.

Residents retaliated, triggering a firefight that left macauyag wounded.

The gunmen fled after sensing the arrival of the responding police and military forces.
