Drug suspect slain; P.4 million shabu seized in Bulacan
MALOLOS, Philippines — A drug suspect was killed and two others were arrested in anti-drug operations in Bulacan on Friday.
Jeam Mic Quirido, 32, allegedly drew his gun when he sensed he had transacted with undercover agents in Barangay Sta. Ines, Plaridel around 11:45 p.m.
Bulacan police director Col. Lawrence Cajipe said Quirido was on the drug watchlist of the local police.
In Balagtas town, police said Nestor Gallardo and Metchilyn Dulle yielded 60 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P408,000 during a sting in Barangay Borol 1st.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) declared 3,098 of 4,051 barangays in Western Visayas as drug-cleared.
PDEA regional director Alex Tablate said Antique has the most number drug-free barangays at 98.81 percent; Aklan, 92.96 percent; Iloilo, 90.52 percent; Guimaras, 79.59 percent; Capiz, 65.75 percent; Iloilo City, 42.77 percent; Negros Occidental, 29.45 percent, and Bacolod City, 16.39 percent.
