2 Cagayan hotel owners held for quarantine violations
TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Philippines — Two hotel owners in this city were arrested on Friday for non-compliance with the protocols issued by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).
The hotels owned by Aldrin Anthony Cu, 30, and Archibald Castañeda, 40, reportedly received guests without authority from the Department of Tourism, Lt. Col. Jonalyn Tecbobolan, city police chief, said.
The IATF said partial operation of hotels is allowed in areas under modified general community quarantine provided that health protocols are followed.
The suspects were charged for violation of Republic Act 1132 or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act.
