Mild quake jolts Southern Leyte

MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 3 earthquake shook parts of Southern Leyte yesterday.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the epicenter of the temblor, which occurred at about 8:54 a.m., was located some seven kilometers northwest of San Francisco town.
Phivolcs said the quake was felt at Intensity 3 in San Francisco and Limasawa and Intensity 2 in Pintuyan, all in Southern Leyte.
The agency said the quake was not expected to cause damage or trigger aftershocks.
