Malaysian, 2 others held for gun, drugs
MANILA, Philippines — Three men were arrested for carrying illegal drugs and a gun after being apprehended for violating quarantine rules in Makati City on Thursday.
Wong Sin Yun, 27, was caught without a face mask and quarantine pass along Metropolitan Avenue in Barangay Bel-Air at around 3:45 p.m.
Police officers foiled Wong’s attempt to escape using his electronic bicycle. The lawmen frisked him and found a sachet of shabu with a street value of P5,440.
Wong faces charges of possession of illegal drugs and violating the city’s mandatory face mask ordinance.
In Barangay Pio del Pilar, student Orlando Portillo Jr., 22, and online delivery driver Edward Pendon, 24, were spotted drinking liquor outside Portillo’s house along Roosevelt street at around 11:30 p.m.
Police found a .38 caliber revolver in Pendon’s bag.
Charges of violation of a city ordinance banning drinking in public, disobedience to an agent of a person in authority and illegal possession of firearms would be filed against Portillo and Pendon.
