MANILA, Philippines — Nine persons were apprehended yesterday in Manila for manufacturing fake identification cards of the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).

Members of the Manila Police District (MPD) Station 4 raided a printing press along Recto Avenue after receiving information that the establishment was selling fake IATF cards to food delivery service providers.

MPD chief Brig. General Rolando Miranda said the counterfeit IATF cards, which could pass as genuine to unsuspecting policemen manning quarantine checkpoints, are being sold at P350 each.

Lt. Col. John Guiagui, commander of the MPD Station 4, said they conducted the raid after one of his men managed to buy IATF cards from Jemil printing press.

Police said they recovered computers, printers, CPUs, scanners, laminating machines, ID cutters and copies of the fake IATF cards during the operation.

The suspects are being held by police on charges of falsification of public documents.
