Modified ECQ good for Manila — Isko
MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Isko Moreno yesterday described as a “good development” the imposition of a modified enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the National Capital Region that would allow some businesses to operate at 50 percent capacity.
In his Facebook Live address on Tuesday night, Moreno said under the modified ECQ, business establishsments in Manila could slowly resume operations.
“This is a good development because we really need businesses to open. We cannot separate lives from livelihood,” he said.
Moreno appealed to the residents to remain vigilant after it was reported that 101 cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the city were asymptomatic.
As of Tuesday, there were 920 cases of COVID-19 in Manila with 67 deaths and 195 recoveries.
