Project ARK’s mass testing goes to Antipolo

The Philippine Star

ANTIPOLO, Philippines — Presidential adviser for entrepreneurship and Go Negosyo founder Joey Concepcion has confirmed the launch of Project ARK (Antibody Rapid test Kits) in Antipolo City, Rizal.

At least 1,486 tests were conducted from May 8 to 12 using kits donated by the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc.

Those who tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) were taken to appropriate health facilities for treatment.

Mayor Andrea Ynares expressed her gratitude for Project ARK, considering that the city will be under general community quarantine starting tomorrow.

Concepcion said mass testing should be done in order for the economy to safely reopen and restart.

“We are in a war with an invisible enemy. Gaining visibility is key to successfully overcoming this pandemic. Our goal at Project ARK is to bring testing to everybody,” he said.

Project ARK bands the biggest economic players and business conglomerates in the country to ramp up mass testing for COVID-19.

Aside from encouraging  screening of employees to ensure safety at work, Project ARK supports companies to lead mass testing in barangays.

The project has so far generated 1,021,293 test kits from 186 companies.

At least 880,693 of the test kits will be used by partner companies while 140,600 will be donated to barangays.

Project ARK is working with LGUs such as Pasig, Taguig, Quezon City, and Makati to bring mass testing down to the community level.
