MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Isko Moreno on Thursday thanked STAR president and chief executive officer Miguel Belmonte for a P2-million donation that would benefit displaced jeepney drivers in Pandacan.

The money is a donation of Metrobank Foundation through The STAR’s Operation Damayan, the social arm of the Philstar Media Group.

Operation Damayan also donated P2 million worth of rice and groceries to the city government on March 24, a few days after the national government imposed the enhanced community quarantine.

The city government, in turn, distributed the rice and groceries to residents affected by the quarantine.
