5 quarantine violators arrested in Butuan

BUTUAN CITY, Philippines — Five persons, three of them minors, were arrested for engaging in a drinking spree in Barangay Libertad in this city on Friday.

Police said the suspects were drinking tuba and eating dog meat for pulutan (finger food).

The suspects face charges for violation of enhanced community quarantine protocols as well as Republic Act 8485 or the Animal Welfare Act.

The three minors are under the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
