2 dead in Laguna, Nueva Ecija drug raids

LAGUNA, Philippines — A suspect in Laguna’s drug watchlist was killed in an alleged shootout with law enforcers in Calamba City on Thursday.

Braian Alcasabas reportedly resisted arrest and fired at police officers serving a warrant at his residence in Barangay Parian at around 12:30 p. m.

A caliber .45 pistol and 25 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of  P625,000 were allegedly recovered from the fatality.

In Nueva Ecija, Ryan Cristopher Mina, 34, a resident of Barangay Camp Rinio, Cabanatuan City, reportedly shot it out with police officers in an anti-drug operation in Barangay Kalikid Sur.

Police said a caliber .38 revolver, a sachet of shabu, a motorcycle and marked money were seized from the suspect.
